this is a journal about trying to live a good, grounded life in South Minneapolis. i’m a husband and dad of two, a data engineer by trade, and someone who feels most at home outside—riding bikes, camping, watching birds, exploring trails, and finding reasons to get out into the world with my family.

i care deeply about the natural world and the kinds of communities and cities we build around it. that means thinking about how we move around, what we consume, how we spend our time, and how to raise kids who know and love the places they live.

this is a place to document that life: family, bikes, nature, the outdoors, technology, and the ongoing experiment of trying to live a little more deliberately.
